Dear students of Cals College Nieuwegein,
We are looking for new Organizing Committee (OC) members for CalsMUN 2025!
First of all, you might be wondering: what is MUN? MUN stands for Model United Nations. During a MUN you discuss current issues, representing a country within the United Nations. However, besides the debating, you also make lots of friends, get to improve your English skills, and it is a great addition to your resume (CV).
After CalsMUN 2024, we are beyond excited to start the organization of CalsMUN 2025, to bring the MUN cheer that we all share to other high school students at this school. For this conference to be a success, we need some brand-new Organizing Committee (OC) members. If you are interested in MUNs, do something new or possibly have experience already, keep on reading!
There are many different kinds of positions in the Organizing Committee, for example the Press Team, who manage the social media platforms and the Masters of Ceremonies, who, among other things, organize the MUN party. In the attached document, you can find an overview of the positions that still need to be fulfilled, along with a short description of the main tasks that need to be done and the skills that need to be mastered and are important for specific positions as well as qualities all members should have.
If you have found a position that interests you, you can apply by writing a motivation letter for the particular position you are interested in. We would highly recommend applying for more than one position, since this will increase your chances of becoming part of the OC and it shows that you are motivated. Within this letter, please include what position you are interested in and why you would be a good fit for this position as well as the OC as a whole. Also include your experience regarding MUNs, as well as experience with organizing activities in general. Applicants are expected to write their letter in English.
The deadline for the motivation letters is the 23th of February.
The interviews are in the week of the 26th of February – 1st of March.
