Welcome to the MUN Crashcourse page of CalsMUN! This page contains some handy information for beginning delegates, who are exploring the MUN world, and for delegates that want to freshen up their debate skills!
You have applied to CalsMUN? Good job!
What is next? Preparation!
Ask yourself the following;
- Which country do I represent?
- Which issues will I be discussing?
- What does my country think of the issue?
So you know which country you will be representing and which topics you will be debating? Good!
Now on to the writing!
What you need in order to write a resolution:
-Research reports written by your chairs
And remember you are representing a country.
So you have written your resolution! Great!
Now on to lobbying!
What to look out for when lobbying:
-Countries with the same opinion as the country you are representing
-Other delegates with resolutions
-A good time
How to debate
So you have done all the preparatory work and are now ready to debate in an MUN.
What to look out for when debating:
-Never refer to yourself as 'I'. Remember, you represent a country not yourself
-Use the right motions when appropriate
-A good time
This year's CalsMUN features the Crisis Council! We recommend watching this video to understand the concept better and to be prepared for the conference.
