CalsMUNCals Model United Nations is a two-day conference that annually takes place at Cals College, Nieuwegein, The Netherlands.
The last ten editions of Cals Model United Nations were a great success. This year will be our eleventh edition of CalsMUN. Now, with a fresh new OC staff that has been formed, we are planning on organising a fun and educative Model United Nations once again: Cals Model United Nations, the eleventh edition. A Model United Nations (MUN) is an educational simulation of the United Nations, in which students learn about the prominent global issues and how the United Nations deal with them. Participants, who are referred to as delegates, represent a country or a Non-Profit-Organization (NGO), such as Greenpeace, and debate resolutions to global problems in a committee, such as the Security Council or the Human Rights Committee. The delegates research an issue, write resolutions, debate, and contribute to innovative proposals to solve world problems. |

About us
We are a group of highly motivated high school students interested in getting young people involved in global affairs because we believe that the younger generation should be actively involved in discussing world problems, and the MUN gives them that opportunity.
In addition to learning, we offer students the chance to meet peers not only from other parts of the Netherlands, but also from different parts of the world. An opportunity to experience different opinions and cultures whilst making new friends. |

Cals College Nieuwegein
Our school, Cals College, is situated in the heart of the Netherlands, in Nieuwegein, Utrecht.
With over 2000 students attending our school every day, Cals College has all the facilities needed to host a successful conference. Being in the outskirts of Utrecht city, there is frequent and convenient public transportation, from early in the morning till late at night, to and from Utrecht Central Station and our school. |
Utrecht
Nieuwegein lies on the outskirts of Utrecht. With good transport links you will be in the centre of the historic city in half an hour. The city is a must-see for our international delegates.
